Dear Dr. Berger,

With all the women and families that pass through your doors I would never expect you to remember my family, so if I might take a moment to re-introduce ourselves.

Mark and I have been married for 21 years and have 3 TR babies. We came to Chapel Hill in 2000 for our tubal reversal and that became the most profound turning point in all our lives. Our children are Jess 20, Caitlin 18, Taylor 16, and two tr boys Jake and Joe who are 6 and 4. Rounding out the crew is our little miracle Zoey Grace. She came to us packaged slightly different then all the rest of the children, but no less of an amazing little miracle in so many ways.

Our tr journey has actually just begun. Dr. Berger, you have given to my life and my family a gift beyond words. The boys are an absolute joy, but we think that Zoey is what God had planned for us all this time. We are embracing this child that we see as perfect. We know that some would be overwhelmed by the prospect and sheer reality of raising a child with special needs. However, we cannot wait to watch her grow as we grow along side her.

She came to us with Down syndrome. av canal heart defect, an intrauterine stroke, and transient leukemia. Her road has been long and at times incredibly unfair, but her strength and resiliency is what has carried us all. Today she is healthier then we could have ever hoped for. With her heart surgery behind her she is growing and thriving. Any effects of her stroke are barely noticed and we have been blessed to date that her blood disorder has not reappeared. We will however continue to have to follow closely her white blood counts for the next several years, and God willing that will not rear its ugly head. Please pray for her as she has seen her fair share already in her little life.

Our tr journey has actually just begun. My baby days may be over but the best is yet to come. I could never, ever thank you enough for the part you have played in our lives, and the awesome gifts of these three beautiful children you have given us all. I hope to one day see you again, in person, so you might meet these three children that have already made the world a better place. Until then, know you are never far from our hearts and part of our incredible story. Please see the attached photos of our family and see for yourself the beauty you had a part of creating.
