I stumbled onto Dr. Berger's web site in April 2001, I had only been married for approximately 2 1/2 yrs. and my husband knew I could not have children. He said he love me, and my two girls and that nothing could ever change that, but in the back of my mind I felt that my marriage would someday in because I would not be able to bear a child for or from my husband. I also remember 2 yrs prior to my marriage I wanted a child desperately as well; I never knew or even heard of tubal ligation reversals, but then I started thinking with all of the technology we have in this world today, there has to be something out there.

Well Billy and I invested in the 401K plan at work 3yrs.ago, this seemed like the only way we could ever pay for the surgery. The fees for tubal reversal in our hometown were outrageous:($16,000/$11,500/and $10,000-12,000).

So when I saw Dr. Berger's web-page, I quickly printed out the information and called as soon as possible. I still surfed around the web for cheaper prices and found this doctor in Jackson, TN, he only charged about $3,475. When I saw that I called him and sent all of my paper work to him (keep in mind, I hadn't sent dr. Berger my paper work yet, but I had scheduled an appointment for August). The doctor in Tennessee spoke negatively after reviewing my operative report on my tubal ligation. Well I already knew/know it's not a guarantee that you will conceive after having the TR (tubal reversal), so I didn't want to deal with this doctor after he had written me back, so I kept my appointment with Dr. Berger. The doctor in Tennessee only had 3-4 years experience in tubal reversals and Dr. Berger has 20 years or more experience. I faxed Dr. Berger a copy of my operative report, and he e-mailed me back saying he's had many successful cases like mine.

My original appointment was for August 20,2001 but all of money hadn't come in by then, so we had to reschedule for October 10,2001. I had consultation on the 9th @ 1:30p.m. and my surgery for the TR was scheduled @ 7:00 a.m.

It's been two weeks since I've had my surgery and I feel great, although I wasn't saying that a week ago! His staff is is the best. Everyone was so warm and caring, they made the atmosphere pleasant. I'm very anxious to get started on my journey to motherhood for the third time. I will never forget the joy that Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center has brought to my life.
