Early in December, you performed the sterilization reversal surgery on me, at your Chapel Hill facility. The surgery went well and I felt fully recovered in two days. I felt so good that I actually thought that maybe you had not really completed the sterilization reversal procedure.

After all, before locating you, I had telephoned several physicians trying to get information on this procedure. Each time I talked with the nurses at a physician’s office, I was informed that this procedure was rarely performed and was very expensive: at the very least $20,000.00. Not one of the nurses gave me any hope and after each call I became more depressed.

I was also informed that the sterilization procedure was meant to be permanent and more than likely it could not be reversed. This was the lowest point for me. I cried and prayed for two days. Your staff was extremely helpful and understanding. I hardly remember flying to North Carolina with my husband. I was in a dream like state the whole time. I do remember you and your staff as being the most wonderful people I had ever encountered in my lifetime. To this day, I have not met a more caring physician and staff. It has been almost three years since the surgery and I have sat down many times to write to you, however, I can never find the words to thank you enough for our beautiful baby girl.

Yes, I got pregnant just 2 months after the surgery! We named our princess Caitlyn Nora. She is the joy of all joys and fills our house with endless laughter. She was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, but Chapel Hill, North Carolina will always be special to us. Thank you Dr. Berger.
