On Aug 19th, I went in for my usual check up at 39 weeks. I was 3-4 cms. and totally effaced. Dr. said no need to wait any longer, so I was admitted to the hospital the following morning at 7am. Dr. came in around 8 am after I was hooked up to the all the gadgets.

Apparently those low cramps I was feeling were contractions, but they didn't feel like it. Just felt like cramps. They decided to put me on a slow drip of pit to speed things up. So while I slept, my body just did its thing. I got an epidural around noon...that was no fun, she had to do it twice cause it didn't take the first time...luckily I wasn't in any pain at this time so that helped. Dr. came in around 1pm, I was progressing and almost there. By 3:00pm the baby was ready to make an appearance. They came in, set up, I even had a nurse trainee in there....finally they were ready and so was I.

I pushed 2-3 times and out came Alexis Natalie, born at 3:19 pm weighing in at 6.12 ozs. and 20 inches long. She has dark hair and beautiful eyes. I still look at her in awe and can't believe she came out of me. I have attached a few pictures.
