When we decided to get married we understood there was no guaranty we would be able to have children together. Ten years earlier Heidi had her tubes tied when she and her first husband decided two children was plenty. But as we started our new life together, we decided having a child of our own was something we really wanted to explore. We consulted with our local OBGYN who had experience with tubal-reversal surgery, but she suggested we contact a specialist in Chapel Hill, NC who focused exclusively on reversal procedures. What a fruitful decision that turned out to be. Almost one year to the date of the surgery, we welcomed Emma Elisabeth Soleil into our lives.

Our experience with Dr. Berger and everyone at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center can be best described as nurturing and supportive. We had no idea how world-renowned the Center was until we visited the office and saw a large map of the world covered with small pins representing patients who had come to North Carolina for the reversal surgery. The day of our procedure there were couples from San Diego and Philadelphia who had flown in especially for the surgery.

From our initial consultation to the actual procedure and follow-up we felt remarkably cared for every step of the way. And the discussion boards turned out to be a tremendous support as we waited each month to see if we’d get lucky. Once we did become pregnant, it was such a relief to consult the boards and know that we were not alone in this journey.

From the bottom our hearts we thank everyone at the Center for providing us the means and support to be where we find ourselves today - proud parents of a beautiful little girl.
