Dr. Berger and Staff,

My new husband, Ryan, and I came to Chapel Hill soon after the accidental death of my only son, Timothy. We were hoping for the chance to help fill the big hole in my heart, and also find new joy in sharing a new creation that is a little piece of me, a little piece of Ryan, and a big piece of heaven. I had my tubal reversal on April 8th, 2005 and am happy to announce that 9 months and 19 days later I am holding our beautiful little miracle that you helped make possible.

While in for a scheduled ultrasound at 20 weeks I was told that we were having a boy! I cried like a baby and knew that God was looking down on us. We are all so happy and in love with our new son, and brother, Bode James. Bode hasn't replaced the hole in my heart left by Timothy, but he definitely fills my heart up with happiness, joy and overflowing love.

Dr. Berger, I am so thankful that I live in the day in time that you and the rest of the staff are there and provide the wonderful service that you do. I could never possibly express just how much you and your staff are cherished by our family. I know there are no guarantees when undergoing any surgery, but just to be given the chance to conceive, no matter how big or small, makes it all worth it. You have all truly made our dreams come true.

We haven't firmly decided whether or not to have a second Berger baby at this time, but we have been discussing it. So far, neither my husband or I seem to be opposed to the idea. Who knows, you may just be receiving another pregnancy report from us by this year's end.
