“Is the risk of miscarriage more common after tubal reversal?”

Many of our patients will ask if the risk of miscarriage increases after reversal surgery.
There are many reasons why it appears pregnancy miscarriage is common among tubal reversal patients. To start, miscarriages are very common among the general population and approximately 1 out of every 5 pregnancies will miscarry.
Tubal reversal patients who are actively seeking pregnancy will often test frequently and, as a result, they will detect many chemical pregnancies. Chemical pregnancies are early miscarriages which will frequently go unnoticed. Many tubal reversal patients are also older than 35 and the risk of pregnancy miscarriage will increases with age. Some tubal reversal patients will have early pregnancies outside the uterus which will resolve on their own and without any medical treatment. These resolving, abnormal pregnancies can mimic an early miscarriage.
Often many of the tubal reversal patients who have miscarriages will ultimately conceive and have the miracle for which they seek. You would be a good candidate and the chance of pregnancy after tubal reversal of Hulka clips is very good.
Hi I’m 40 year mother of two,I have the hulka clips.I’m currently under the Drs care for stomach pain, I was told it was scar tissues on my tubes, and I was wondering would I be good candidate to have my clips removed iv been battling this for a year now. They ran every test possible. I’m currently waiting for an appointment at chapel hill in which my doctor recommend! I just hope I can still get pregnant! Help
