When my daughter was 3, I had a tubal ligation. I was 22 years old and single. My labor and delivery was traumatic for me and I didn’t ever want to have another child. Of course, later on that year, I met my future husband and we married the following year. I told him I never wanted more children and he said I may change my mind. I did change my mind and regretted the tubal ligation surgery. I didn’t ever find a doctor where I live that I felt comfortable with to do the reversal. Basically, doctors don’t learn how to do reversals anymore because IVF is so popular.
My daughter continued to ask for a baby brother or sister each night, and I told her that we would have to pray about it. I didn’t see how I would ever find a doctor to do the reversal, but I know that all things are possible. I was married 6 years when my mother-in-law called us and told us about Dr. Berger and the Tubal Reversal Center. All she did was a simple internet search. When my husband and I looked at the website, we were so excited! The answer to our prayers and wishes was there all along. I called to make the appointment and 2 months after my surgery, I was pregnant. Not only was I able to have a successful first pregnancy after the TR, but I got to have a totally different experience with the labor and delivery. It was an amazing natural delivery, a perfect ending to our story.
Our baby is such a blessing and a miracle. We couldn’t be happier to have him here less than a year after my tubal reversal surgery. We are so thankful for Dr. Berger and the Tubal Reversal Center.
