hi,i am 32 years 0ld and i had a boy 7 years old.2009 July i had myomectomy for fibroid.then after 6 month Dr told me to try ttc but am not conceive.then Dr suggest to me do hsg and i did.after few month’s Dr suggest me to do another laparoscopy for my tube they said to me they have to check my fallofain tube is it bloock or not,but am not doing that opretion.so could u tell me what should i have to do?coz they didn’t sure about my tube is bloock or not.coz i want baby and i don’t do that opretion could u tell what is best for me.thank u

I had my reversal done in 2010 and became pregnant Feb 2011. He is now one month old and doing great. Darlene – It should be possible for you to have another child after having your tubes cut and then repaired through tubal anastomosis as long as you are having regular menstrual cycles.

Time since the tubal ligation is not that critical. It is only important because with increasing age pregnancy becomes harder to obtain. The tubes do not change over time.

Is it a lot more simpler for a reversal if it has only been a yr since my tubal? Big mi stake!!! My baby is 14 mos & I wish I hadn’t done it!

Decha – Your best chance of getting pregnant again will be through tubal reversal surgery at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center, North Carolina. The other approach you could use is in vitro fertilization (IVF) but it is more expensive, more risky, and does not have as high a pregnancy rate. You can become pregnant with only one tube. You should send us your records. Most patients find it more affordable to travel to see us rather than to stay in their local area.

hi im gonna be 41 years feb,20 2011 i have four children when i got pregnant with my fifth child i started hemorrhaging this was about 2006 , when the doctor ordered an ultra sound they found out i had an ectopic pregnancy my doctor said i was carrying the baby in my right tube and that a vein was about to erupt they did an emergency surgery taking out the right tube an tied of the left tube doc said if i wanted to have another baby i can have my left tube untied and still carry a baby but theres a chance of having another ectopic pregnancy is it possible for me to still have a baby. by the way i live in nassau ,bahamas . is there any medical facility near by where i can have this done at at a more reasonable fee please respond asap .

Tubal reversal would provide you and excellent chance at becoming pregnant. We have had patients call us within several days of having a tubal ligation. About 3 out of every 4 patients who have reversal under the age of 40 will become pregnant.

Hi this is probably crazy.. But I am 38 yrs old have only had 1 child 19 yrs ago. And 1 miscarriage and 1 blighted ovum (for those of you who do not know that is when your body becomes pregnant however something happens and the development stops) so now my only child has moved away and I have a great new man in my life and would like to have the option if its healthy for me too, to be able to give him a baby after we wed. I was told my tubes were cut/burned/tied. At the time I thought it was a good idea because of the advice of a medical professional (all based on my age and the 2 lost pregnancies) now I think it was the biggest mistake of my life!!!!! It has only been 10 months since the surgery. What do you think?

Hello everyone! I'm 33 years old and my tubes were clipped after my 5th child in 2001. I didn't imagine my husband and I would ever want another baby. Well things happened and we were divorced 2 years later. Now I am remarried and my husband really wants a baby so I am willing to try. After doing a lot of research I am definitely going with Dr. Berger. Only thing is when they cut my tubes they cut over the normal amount. I'm scared it's not going to be successful but for my husband, it'll be worth it. Someone please shed some light on my story.

Hi everybody! I am 24 and about a year and a half ago I had my tubes tied. I never wanted to do it but at the time i was told that was best. I regret it every day of my life. I believe my tubes were cut and burned but I will not be sure until I see the report. Before I had my tubes tied I had no problem conceiving (that was the problem. I just want to know the odds of becoming pregnant are for me with this little bit of information. I just don't want to get my hopes up.

Jenn – Most methods of tubal ligation are reversible. You do not have to take an extra trip here before coming for tubal ligation reversal. If you wish to come to Chapel Hill just for a consultation, of course, we will be happy to see you for that. The cost of a pre-operative consultation alone can be determined by sending an email to ErickaP@tubal-reversal.net. Almost all patients come here the day prior to their tubal reversal procedure and the consultation is included in the total cost for the reversal procedure. I’m 33 and I had my tubes tied when I was 22. I was very young then and had already given birth to my third child with my ex-husband. I’m not sure which procedure was done back then and the hospital seems to have lost my records when the big storm hit the Houston area. Now I’m in a relationship with a man who has no children but sincerely wants to begin a family with me. I would love to have this opportunity to create the family he dreams of. Hello I’m 27. In 2006 I got my tubes tied, the biggest mistake I made in my life. My husband is in the army we are trying to see if Tricare will cover it. I’m crying inside no one can hear me. I am considering having a tubal reversal but I do not know what is best due to the fact that a portion of my tubes was removed. I dont know if ivf or tubal reversal is a better option. Leah – Only the patient’s informed consent is legally required for tubal anastomosis. The surgery can be done provided your BMI is less than 35. If it 35 or over it would have to be rescheduled and there would be an extra fee for rescheduling so it is best to wait until you have lost weight to schedule it.

I am 31 years old and I have had my tubal ligation since February 2005. I was married in 2007 and my husband does not know that I had this surgery. I would like to have my fallopian tubes reconnected and was wondering if I had to have his permission for this procedure. And if I am unable to get my BMI down low enough, would I have to reschedule the surgery again or have to wait. Or could it still be done? My current BMI is 36.
