After thinking it would never happen for us, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Lanie Grace.Posted September 11th, 2009

Dear Dr. Berger,

We just wanted to update you. I had my tubal reversal surgery in 2001. Since the tubal reversal, I have had three miscarriages and one ectopic. We adopted a baby girl 4 1/2 yrs ago after thinking it would never happen for us. I then became pregnant and gave birth 08/12/2009 to a beautiful baby girl Lanie Grace.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for a successful surgery with an outcome that was prayed for and very much wanted. I am proof for the ladies not to give up hope. It it amazing and I just cannot thank you enough, I tell everyone about the wonderful experience I had in NC and how nice everyone was. To see her and see the proof that tubal reversal surgery can and does work is amazing.

It’s been a long time since my reversal as well and I have yet to hold a baby in my arms. Thank you for sharing. It has brought me hope.

My name is Tracy and I am so excited/anxious to go get my tubal reversal done by Dr. Berger! I paid for my surgery in advance and I intend to fly to NC as soon as humanly possible as I have just turned 44 yrs. old. For about 7 mos. now I have been working very hard at losing weight to get down to the 34.9 BMI to be eligible for a TR. So far I have lost 50 lbs. with 10 lbs. more to go! I don’t like to call it a diet because it is definitely a lifestyle change for me, I don’t think that I could ever go back to eating unhealthy again because I feel so much better already by eating wholesome foods that are low in fat but high in natural vitamins! I have thoroughly enjoying the many wonderful benefits of being at a healthier weight! Less aches/pains, NO labored breathing when climbing steps anymore, getting to buy a new wardrobe because I have dropped 3 sizes already and many more! I wish that certain people in my extended family were more supportive of my husband and my plans to have the TR and try for a much wanted baby (after being married for over 10 years) but, I AM HAPPY that at least our children from our previous marriages are all for it and my mom-in-law is very anxious for us to have a baby together! Most all of my friends are cheering us on too! However, I would love to hear from more women my age (44) that have had the procedure and gotten pregnant and get their take on it–anyone out there who feels comfortable giving their personal opinion after having a TR –PLEASE share your thoughts with me. I have read about few women on this website that are my age or older and would just LOVE to hear from any one of you. Thanks so much! Sincerely, Tracy

  4. SOPHINA – The length of time since you had your tubes tied matters only in terms of your current age. The chances of getting pregnant after tubal reversal for women are shown by their age in our Tubal Reversal Pregnancy Report 2009. The pregnancy rate for women age 35-39 is 62% when the tubes are untied at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center.

I’m 38 years old and I have had my tubes tied for 11 years and my husband is 40 years old with no children. I have 3 kids of my own and I really want to give my husband his first child but having my tubes tied so long would it be possible for me to have a child?
