My 2 children.Posted May 28th, 2009

Hi Dr. Berger,

Back in 1990, with your help,  I got pregnant. January 20, 1991 my beautiful baby girl was born. Friday, May 22, 2009 she graduated from High School. Thank you so much!!! She’s a fabulous person, inside and out. Can’t imagine my life without her. I am attaching a photo of her at graduation. I hope you remember us, but if not I understand. After all, you deal with lots of patients. I have since divorced and both of us have remarried. I had another child, a boy, who turned 5 January 12, 2009. I was taking birth control pills when I got pregnant. 43 years of age and pregnant!! Life is just full of surprises and it’s great!!!

I remember well all the things you did to help me get pregnant with Candace and I’m very, very grateful!! Thought you would like to see one of your children as she becomes a mature young woman. I also attached a photo of her with my son. One again, thank you so much!!!! Keep in touch, if possible. Have a wonderful day!!

Hi Robin! Your story is very inspiring and encouraging! Great looking children you have in the picture that is posted!

I am 43 years old and made the mistake of getting my tubes tied 12 yrs. ago at the same time I had a c-section. I got divorced, remarried and my beloved husband and I have been wanting to have children for 10 years. I had almost, but not quite, given up hope of ever being able to afford the surgery because where I live in Iowa they want over $12,000 for the procedure. Then I started praying for God to make a way where there seemed no way, and I found the website on Chapel Hill!!!

I am currently working very hard at losing enough weight to be eligible for tubal reversal surgery. So far I have lost 27 lbs. and have approx. 34 more to go. I have always had regular periods and no female problems ever and with my other pregnancies I always conceived within 1-2 monthly cycles without even tracking ovulation. So I am really positive that all will go well with the surgery and no problems conceiving either as the clock is truly ticking because of being close to 44 yrs. old. I believe that God would not have brought me to this point to leave me and I have the faith that my husband and I will someday hold our own baby in our arms! I am also choosing to go with Dr. Berger and am truly excited to meet him and staff. Do you know by chance how many women my age (almost 44) that Dr. Berger has been able to help conceive? Just curious. Tracy in Iowa

Hi Robin! Your story is very inspiring! I am 43 years old and made the mistake of getting my tubes tied 8 years ago. For some reason I thought since my tubes got tied that I couldn’t have more children. I know there’s a difference between tied and burning the tubes, do you know if the tubes has been burned can reversal surgery still be done? Also do you know how many more women in their forties that Dr. Berger has been able to help conceive? Geraldine in St. Louis

HI Robin and geraldine, I read your letters and wanted to write. On May 21, 2009 I went to Dr. Berger and had my tubal reversal surgery. I am 50 yrs old. I had my tubes burned and tied 22 yrs ago. It has not been a month yet so I am not pregnant yet but I encourage everyone to have the surgery at Chapel Hill with Dr. Berger. God will give life.
